ORGANIZED SPACE. CLEARLY DEFINED FLOWS.
A storage system must suit the load, handling, and available space. In the same operation, products may arrive on pallets, remain in inventory, and leave in cartons or individual units. That is why pallet racking and order-picking systems can serve complementary functions in the warehouse.
MonteLOG provides pallet racking installation and picking system services based on the design defined for each project. Before starting, the system, site conditions, available materials, and execution responsibilities must be agreed.
01 / PALLETIZED STORAGE
The conventional pallet racking system, also called selective pallet racking, stores goods on pallets. Its configuration arranges positions across levels and access aisles for the handling equipment planned in the design.
Selective racking allows individual access to pallet positions. It may suit inventory with different product references that requires access to unit loads. Dimensions, number of levels, and capacity are defined in the design, considering the load, equipment, and site characteristics.

02 / ORDER PICKING
Order picking is selecting the items that make up an order. In manual picking areas, systems organize cartons, parts, and individual products for operator access according to the chosen picking method.
The picking shelves and medium-duty shelving can accommodate non-palletized products across different levels. Span, depth, support surface, and accessory choices depend on item sizes, conditions of use, and system design.
In distribution centers, retail inventory, and e-commerce operations, area planning should consider both picking and replenishment. Installation must respect the approved configuration so the systems integrate into the planned flow.
UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE
Load type and access methods help guide the conversation. The final definition depends on your operation's design.
| What to assess | Conventional pallet racking | Manual picking shelves |
|---|---|---|
| Stored unit | Loads organized on pallets. | Cartons, parts, and individual products. |
| Everyday access | Moving palletized units with suitable equipment. | Accessing items to make up orders. |
| Operational role | Storage and palletized reserve inventory. | Organizing items for picking and replenishment. |
| What must be defined | Pallets, loads, levels, aisles, and equipment. | Products, support surfaces, access, and picking flows. |
| Possible integration | The layout can combine palletized inventory and a picking area, subject to technical and operational assessment. | |
Send the available design to agree installation conditions, mobilization, and project stages.

Installation does not replace structural design calculations. Capacities, level changes, and conditions of use require technical approval.
YOUR SYSTEM AT A NEW STAGE
A layout change may involve dismantling, component identification, relocation, and reassembly. Before a system is reused, its condition and compatibility with the new configuration must be assessed.
For pallet racking and picking shelf extensions, state the existing system and available documentation. Component supply, transport, and required interventions are agreed in the proposal.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Pallet racking organizes unit loads on pallets. Order picking is the process of selecting an order's items and can use manually accessed shelves or areas integrated with palletized storage. The choice depends on inventory and operational profiles.
MonteLOG receives storage system installation requests. Send the design, planned system, and project location to confirm scope and availability in the proposal.
Yes. A layout can combine palletized reserve stock and item-picking areas. The configuration must consider replenishment, access, circulation, and technical specifications of the systems.
Changes to levels, spans, and configuration can affect system conditions of use. Before making a change, request design assessment and approval from the technical responsible party and manufacturer, where applicable.
Yes. In addition to installation, MonteLOG receives requests for storage system sales and rental. State the desired system to confirm models, availability, and commercial terms.
Send the project city and state, system type, available design or layout, planned number of bays or positions, desired timeline, and access conditions. If any information is still missing, state what has already been defined.
